Demolition
In preparation for the sweet Kevin Harvick Fathead , I decided that I needed to paint the walls in my computer room. Then I decided that the switches and receptacles should be replaced since they looked so dingy. Then I decided that I didn't like my lighting and I wanted track lighting with some recess lights.
So began my project. I would completeley (well, almost) redo my computer room with new ceiling, lighting, paint, and carpet. I thought that I would document my progress with pictures and my own narration.
Day 1 - Killz primer goes up on the "Fathead wall." The rest of the room looks pretty nasty in comparison.
Originally, I was going to paint just the wall that the decal would go on.
Day 2 - Decided that I didn't like the ceiling tile, so I ripped it down. What the heck is with all the wood up there???!
Day 3 - After only about 5 hours, the wooden monstrosity was defeated, and a plaster ceiling remained.
Day 4 - Crazy me, thinking you could just rip down a plaster ceiling. Mr. Rudy - 1, Greg - 0. There was wire mesh behind the plaster in all the corners, requiring some tin snips and patience. About 8 hours and 12 garbage bags-full of debris later, the frame was exposed, waiting for its new components.
